Welcome Hosanna Evageline Wainscott: March 2004
--------------------------
A PRECIOUS GIFT
Mr. Speaker, we all have more precious gifts than we deserve. I know I certainly have more precious gifts than I deserve.
Easter is soon upon us, and I’m among those who believe Easter tells the story of an infinitely precious gift – and that is the Gift of eternal Life.
I’ve also had the precious gift of my loving wife Marlene, and together we’ve received the precious Gift of six precious children – and these children, like all children, are precious gifts of life from God, from the very moment of conception.
Our six children have brought us additional precious gifts: seventeen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Our seventeenth grandchild came to life nine months ago, and was born Saturday, March 27th, in Indiana to her parents, my daughter Marla Wainscott and her husband Lance Wainscott. The baby’s name is “Hosannah Evangeline Wainscott” – and in my church you can hear her name spoken every day of the year, in every place in the world.
Hosannah is the sixth child, the sixth precious gift, for our Wainscott family – and of their six children, the only girl.
All of us are rightfully proud to be entrusted by our constituents to represent them in this legislature – but I’m here to tell you, nothing makes one more proud than to be honored by God with precious gifts of children, and the children of children.
Why am I Pro-Life? – well, you just heard it.
