Friday, November 17th, the House passed HB4001 - bill that prohibits the Commissioner of Administration from taking action on the plan to provide state benefits to same-sex “partners” by the Supreme Court deadline of January 1st, and also a bill, HB4002, to put an advisory vote same-sex benefits to public on the April 3, 2007 ballot. I voted “YES” on both bills.

Today, Monday, November 20th, the State Senate passed the two House bills. Congratulations, as well as “praise, joy, and thanks” (translated, that means “halleluiah”)!

Both the House and Senate voted mainly on political party lines - the Republicans voting "yes," and the Democrats voting "No" (Democrat President Harry Truman must be turning over in his grave).
